Course Description:
These workshops, sponsored by the IUSM Department of Psychiatry, Section of Psychology, are intended for psychologists, physicians, and other mental health providers and are not intended to provide a basic level of education in this area.

 

Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • identify ethical challenges that may arise from personal and professional social media use;
  • identify key elements of the "difficult patient;" 
  • identify ethical dilemmas that occur when working with multidisciplinary teams and will be familiar with how to respond appropriately to these situations.

Designation Statement:
For Psychologists:  Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Section of Psychology, is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Section of Psychology, maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

3.0 CE credits can be earned by attending this workshop in its entirety. No credit can be given for partial attendance. 

 

Registration Fees:
All Participants $85.00

 

Attendance Certificates:
CE certificates for psychologists will be distributed at the conclusion of each program at the registration table.

Commercial Support for this workshop:
There is no commercial support for the development or execution of these events. All speakers have disclosed that they have no commercial bias and there is no conflict of interest in their presentations.

 

Location and Parking:
The IU Neuroscience Center/Goodman Hall is located at 355 West 16th St., Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202.  There is an attached parking garage; if you park in this garage, the conference will provide you with a validated parking ticket. We are unable to validate parking at other locations. The workshops will be held in the auditorium inside the first floor Education Center.

 

Refund Policy:
We understand that sometimes arrangements must change. Cancellations must be made in writing to iuconfs@indiana.edu.  A 50% refund is available until December 2nd. No refunds will be issued after that date. The easiest way to request a refund is to respond to the emailed payment receipt you will receive once you've registered.
