Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship
On behalf of the faculty and administrators of the Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine, I welcome your interest in our geriatric psychiatry fellowship program. Rapid demographic shifts in the American population of elders, as well as new developments in scientific research, have made this an exciting time to pursue subspecialty training in this field. Our one year training program encompasses an extensive range of clinical and academic experiences in late-life care. We offer an abundance of opportunities to gain proficiency in providing inpatient and outpatient clinical care to seniors, in addition to research opportunities in dementia, late-life affective disorders, and healthcare communication systems. A rigorous schedule of didactics, designed to supplement the resident's base of psychiatric and medical knowledge, is also an essential part of our fellowship. At the completion of training, our candidates are prepared for productive and fulfilling careers in clinical care, academic research, education, or administration. Please contact our staff to obtain more information and to have questions addressed.
