Triple Board Program Requirements
General Psychiatry - 18 months total
- 4-9 months inpatient
- 6-9 months outpatient
- Adult neurology exposure
- Psychotherapy at least one patient for one year
- Consultation-Liaison (may defer to Child Psychiatry)
- Substance abuse treatment
- Emergency Service (fulfilled by ½ day/week at Wishard Crisis Intervention Unit while on adult outpatient psychiatry)
- Community Mental Health (fulfilled by Wishard CIU)
- Collaboration with other mental health providers
- Psychological testing
Child Psychiatry - 18 months total
- 2-6 months inpatient/day hospital
- 12 months continuous outpatient, including psychotherapy patient for one year
- Electives - School consults, forensics, substance abuse, other electives as individually arranged/desired to run concurrently with outpatient child psychiatry clinic
- Pediatric neurology (total 2 months of neurology between pediatrics and adult)
- Continuity clinic begins in the spring of year 4
- Continuity clinic may alternate weeks with pediatric clinic during ward months on pediatrics in PGY 3 and 4 year
- Long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy with at least one patient for at least one year
Pediatrics - total 24 months
- Minimum 5 general pediatrics months (2 supervisory)
- Minimum 4 pediatrics supervisory months
- 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit months
- 1 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit month
- 3 urgent/Emergency Medicine months
- 1 adolescent medicine month
- 1 pediatrics neurology month (this may be done while Child Psychiatry)
- 4 subspecialty months
- 50% ambulatory
- Continuity clinic 1/2 day weekly for PGY-1 year with the option of every other week beginning in the PGY-2 year
