| Personal Statement | My focus is the care of patients with severe and persistent mental illness using a team approach involving nurses, social workers, and case managers to not only address symptoms of illness but also the many challenges individuals face in societal functioning. I strive to improve community based programs to more effectively and efficiently meet patient needs, and promote wellness through patient-centered psychiatric care in the context of the individual's overall medical treatment. My teaching and research interests focus on furthering our understanding and treatment of chronic mental illness. | |
