Personal Statement

As a clinical health psychologist, my interests focus on providing care for persons with both psychiatric and medical issues.  My clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, psychosocial oncology, sleep disorders, chronic medical illness, women’s issues, and eating and weight disorders.   I am especially interested in the dissemination of demonstrably effective evidence-based practice such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy providing supervision and didactic training of psychiatry residents, fellows, and psychology interns.

Current Academic Interests

Teaching: Didactic training for psychology interns and clinical supervision for advanced psychiatry residents.  Effective communication training for medical students.

Clinical: Provide assessment and psychotherapeutic treatment at University Hospital Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic.  Provide health psychology services for medical departments such as sleep medicine, psychosocial oncology, and cardiology.

Research: I am involved in treatment-outcome research which focuses on individuals with disordered eating and obesity.
